FAQ - Adding characteristics to transactions and clients

1. What is a characteristic in Prodon Web?

A characteristic is additional information that allows you to qualify, describe, or structure a transaction or a client record.
It is mainly used to better organize data and facilitate searches and analysis.


2. Can characteristics be added to both clients and transactions?

Yes.
Characteristics can be added:

  • directly to a transaction
  • directly to a client record

The method of adding them is similar in both cases.


3. Where can you find the feature to add characteristics?

  • In a transaction: in the "Characteristics" section of the transaction
  • In a client record: in the "Characteristics" tab of the client

4. How do you search for a characteristic to add?

When adding:

  • type the name of the characteristic in the unified search bar
    or
  • click the arrow to display the full list of available characteristics

The bar acts as both an input field and a dropdown menu.


5. What happens after selecting a characteristic?

An input window opens automatically.
The user must:

  • complete the required fields
  • verify the accuracy of the entered values
  • click "Add" to confirm

6. Can multiple characteristics be added at once?

Yes.
This is done using groups of characteristics.

These groups allow you to automatically add several predefined characteristics in a single action.


7. How do you add a group of characteristics in a transaction?

  • In the "Characteristics" section, click the arrow next to the "Add" button
  • Select "Add a group of characteristics"
  • Choose the desired group
  • Click "Add"

All elements of the group will then be added to the transaction.


8. Are characteristic groups available for client records?

Yes.
The process is the same as for a transaction: access the "Characteristics" section of the client record and follow the same steps.


9. Can a characteristic be modified after being added?

Yes.
Added characteristics can be viewed and edited—depending on the user’s access rights—directly in the transaction or client record.


10. What should I do if I can’t find the desired characteristic?

If a characteristic does not appear:

  • check the spelling
  • use the full dropdown list
  • confirm that the characteristic exists in the system

If it does not exist, you may need to contact an administrator.


11. Should characteristics be added before or after creating a transaction?

Characteristics are added after opening or creating the transaction, in the designated section.
They can also be added or adjusted later.


12. Who can add characteristics?

Any user with the appropriate permissions in Prodon Web can add or modify characteristics on transactions and client records.


13. What are characteristics mainly used for?

Characteristics are used to:

  • structure information
  • standardize data
  • improve client and transaction tracking
  • facilitate analysis and management
